App Management Made Easy: Approve, Block, or Set Limits

:iphone: Managing Apps on Teracube Thrive: New Categories for More Control

We’re always looking for ways to give parents more flexibility and control over how their kids use technology. That’s why we’re rolling out a better way to manage apps on your child’s Teracube Thrive phone.

With our latest update, you’ll now see three app types — so you can decide how each app behaves and how it contributes to your child’s screen time.

:white_check_mark: Approved Apps

These are the apps your child is allowed to use during their daily screen time.

You have two ways to manage these:

  • No Limit: The app is available, but will be blocked once the daily screen time is used up.
  • Set a Time Limit: Want to restrict social media to 30 minutes a day? No problem — you can set app-specific limits.

:bulb: Example: You set daily screen time limit for 1 hr/ every day. You might approve YouTube but limit it to 30 minutes a day, while allowing Duolingo with no limit. so duolingo will get blocked once daily screen time limit of 1 hr is reached.

:no_entry_sign: Blocked Apps

These are the apps your child can’t access at all.

  • Any newly installed apps are automatically blocked until you review and approve them.
  • Perfect for apps you’re not comfortable with, or simply not ready for your child to use.

:stop_sign: Example: If your child downloads Snapchat or TikTok, it won’t open until you explicitly approve it.

:infinity: Always-On Apps

  • These are essential apps that stay available even after daily screen time runs out.
  • They do not count toward the screen time limit.

Great for apps you consider necessary for communication, learning, or schoolwork.

:repeat: Example: You may want WhatsApp, Calculator, or Calendar always accessible.

:speech_balloon: Why We Made This Change

We heard from many parents that they wanted more nuanced control — not every app should be treated the same. With these new categories, you get to decide what’s essential, what needs limits, and what should be off-limits.

You’re in control. And your child learns how to use technology mindfully, step by step.
