EU – Teracube 2e battery not in stock (or anything not in stock)

Hi, after three years my battery is starting to degrade visibly. Today I tried to buy a replacement, but I found the site telling me that it is out of stock.
Out of curiosity I checked all the spare parts – nothing is available. I quick search showed me people asking for spare parts (especially batteries) as far back am December (that’s when I stopped looking).
So the question is: When is that going to change? The age of that posts make me a little nervous since I know from experience that things might stay like that – security updates didn’t move one bit since January 2021. Or the OS itself for that matter.

Hi,

I’ll ping the team to see if they can force a restock in the EU region.

As for the OS and security updates, check again, we are on Android 13.

Hi,

thank you for answering and your quick reaction. It would be great, if a restock could be arranged. I guess this will help other users as well.

For the Updates and the OS. If you are right, than I take back everything I said about that and apologize in all form.

My view comes from what the phone tells me, when I hit SYSTEM>UPDATE. “Your device is up to date”. I check that from time to time. I remember looselys some form of update when I bought it. But since than nothing was ever shown again.

So I already missed out on the whole Android 12. How do I catch up?

Restock might take a bit, but they are aware so things should be moving along now.

Nah, no worries

Follow the instructions in the right thread for your 2e variant (zirconia is 2020x serial number, emerald is 2021x serial number).

For Zirconia, we have been seeing device resets when going from Android 11 to Android 13, so make sure you are all backed up before you do the upgrade.

We have not seen reports of issues with emerald.

As well for Teracube 2e, Android 12 were only ever beta versions and never had a stable release, so it’s up to you whether you feel that you missed out on those unstable releases.

Ah ok. I have a follow up question. How could I have noticed, without tracking the development actively? As I described, the phone shows “up to date”, when you look it up in the menu.

I am not sure you could have unless you checked in here.

We had to hold auto-OTA for Zirconia because of the reset issue, unfortunately.

I am unsure if the OTA Updater App could pass a notification about a pending update that won’t auto-apply, or if another vendor/OS tool would be required.
