My T2e has been getting weirder and weirder. I think it has to do with heat and/or humidity. Whether I’m in the middle of using it or I pull it out of my pocket to do something, it sometimes is just doing things on it’s own. Calling, texting, opening apps, sending pictures, zooming in and out of an image or app interface, typing gibberish, etc. The term “ghostfingers” has been used for this, I believe. My only recourse is to hold down the power button until it restarts – I cannot even reliably use the power screen to shutdown or restart.
The other day I was talking to a contractor in my living room and I managed to drop my phone. It has the Otter case, and it landed perfectly flat, screen down, on my hearth (slate). The rubber case prevented any damage to the phone’s body, but the screen detached from the body – it is only held on by the ribbon cable now, and I have a rubber band around the phone to keep the screen from flopping around and possibly damaging the cable.
Result: The weird random behavior has stopped. Maybe the T2e screen needs more ventilation than was originally specified in the design of the phone?
