Is there a way to have a different wallpaper for the lock screen versus the other screens??

Yes. Hold on main screen with finger. Choose wall papers from here choose a pic once you do it will ask if you want to make it for these options

  1. Home & Lock screen
  2. Home Screen
  3. Lockscreen
