microSD card interface: A1 or A2?

Hello all (but the question is likely for support staff),

I have a somewhat involved hardware question: microSD cards, in terms of random access speeds, come in A1 and A2 categories, A2 being the (much) faster. However, A2 requires that the hardware interface in the host machine support the protocol that enables its speed.
My guess is that the 2e and the 2s do not support A2.
Am I correct?

A2 is not supported, but as you may be aware, it will still work (just at lower access speed).
