Sudden Death - possible causes?

Hi

When I took my Teracube 2E out of my pocket just now it was completely dead. Nothing.
Fine earlier… what can have caused this and how do I proceed repair wise?

Sorry for the frustration!

Have you had a chance to pull the battery out and let the phone sit for a while? Perhaps it got too hot/cold, or possibly wet?

Repairs can be initiated by emailing support@myteracube.com

However, I would be curious what you find if you do the above and plug it back in to a known-good/working charger with the battery firmly re-installed.

Thanks for the reply.
Battery is inserted ok and phone has not been wet or in extreme temperatures, but no response when connected to charger.

However, the screen is cracked and although it has been working fine that way for the last eighteen months, perhaps that is the problem.

I will get in touch with support anyway.

Well

I have been busy so I haven’t sent my phone off.
I don’t have a windows computer, so not sure how I would have performed the factory reset before sending with the online instructions I read.

However, just out of curiosity more than anything else, plugged the dead Teracube into my mac using the charging cable. After about two hours of just sitting there, it restarts. A bit slow, but all working it would seem. Now what I did not mention before was that a couple of days previous to it dying, I upgraded to Android 11. Could that have caused this somehow?

I’ve previously found that some of charging power bricks won’t work with a Teracube with a completely dead battery and I need to plug it into a computer to have it work properly. I just try to make sure I don’t let the battery completely zero out and it’s not been an issue for the past several years, but… yeah. When it hits that state, as soon as it has enough battery to launch the power-off charging screen, it’s back to normal charging and doesn’t need the workstation assist anymore.
