Recently, I bought the Teracube 2e from Murena. After researching the available, at the time, phones, I liked it best. I was under the impression it would come “de-googled.” Yet there are Google products all over it. I cannot get a response from Murena, and now see it isn’t available in the states anymore. Am I going to have to uninstall everything and install the de-googled OS? Would anyone know how to get in touch with someone at Murena? I’ve emailed 3 times, with no response.
Welcome!
Can you screenshot what the System Info page says about the firmware/OS version?
Any TeraCube 2e from the Murena Store should already have come pre-flashed with Murena /e/OS, which yes, does not include Google apps (though it does include microG, a set of services to provide compatibility with the Google Mobile Services/Google Play Store APIs).
Their contact email address should reply for store questions. Do you have the address you contacted and the date(s)? I’ll see if I can raise someone to take a look.
That is awesome, as there are ton of important fixes in the A13 image, but that is the default/OEM TeraCube firmware, which requires Google apps to be Play certified, no the Murena /e/OS firmware.
There may have been a mixup at Murena and they shipped out a phone with the OEM firmware instead of theirs.
I have not been able to reach anyone, have you been able to?
If you go into settings the top of the list is Updater it should read Updated to /e/OS then a version eg. 2.5 or 2.6.3 the latest
I did go to Updater. It updated to Android 13!
Yes, but they are not on /e/OS, but rather baseline Android.
I have not been able to reach anyone yet. Still trying.
Yes, they got back to me and will make it right. Thanks.
