Text message hack?

During the night my 2e is always put offline/airplane mode. Two nights ago it was accidentally left online and I heard the text sound in the middle of the night but there was no text message or history when I checked the following day.

I think some data is missing. Can a txt message virus arrive and not be detected ? Unfortunately I have enemies who would love to send my life into a spin.

Is there a code(s) to check if a text message has deleted data or sending data elsewhere ? have already tried a few codes for android phones to check on call forwading status etc. and the call forwading is off but not being a tech expert am a little lost.

Advice please. MY 2e is set to block app trackers and fake geolocation.

It sounds like you are using Murena /e/OS and Advanced Privacy, right?

If so, the default Messages app has an Archive you can check, as well as the option to re-sync with the Android Messages database to see if maybe the message is just missing.

If you checked your Notification History in settings and there was no logged notification, it is unlikely that the message went missing, but rather another app/service has been set to use the same notification tone.

Clearing this out without physical access to the device would require tools that most people simply don’t have access to, so there is likely a more benign explanation.

Yes my Teracube is using Murena e/OS Advanced Privacy. Nothing in the archive and have re-synced and also re-checked notifications history - nothing.

Have since updated to the next version /e/OS

In settings/storage, if free up space is tapped, what happens ? What does it delete ?

Not much is deleted, certainly not messages.

In my usage, it does not seem to do much at all on my 2e under /e/OS.

OK Thanks for the help.
