Wanted 'easy to understand' guidance to do updates

While I waited for clear instructions I could understand. (I should not have to say that I had a stroke and all the stuff that was easy before is not easy anymore.) I don’t want to be disrespected by being ignored or given the most general information that omits what May be important to know.
I still don’t know if my 'screen lock ’ enabled to ‘swipe’ is the same as ‘having my lock screen enabled’ (this doesn’t specify ‘enabled’ to which option as there are a few options given.
I just found out that the little green ‘DOWNLOAD’ right under “Teracube 11.0.5+c24c5f9 zirconia user” was something I had to tap on in order for ‘something to download’ this might have to do with a system update…but i’m not sure.

I pressed that green “DOWNLOAD” and am not sure what it did as now I see again that there is update available.
I was told " do that point-release update (minor version update) from 11.0.4 to 11.0.5, as that is required to go beyond Android 11 with further major version upgrades… Did I just do that by touching that green ‘DOWNLOAD’ word?

Yes, that is how you can do the upgrade to Android 13.

However, I would make sure all of your important files are backed up first just in case your device needs to reset between the Android 11 and Android 13 update.

I do not know 'how to make sure all of my important files are backed up '. all I did was go to ‘settings’, ‘system’, ‘backup’ and clicked on backup now. I do not know if this actually backs up all my important files.

There is something I obviously do not know as it looks like the phone was NOT ready to do the update to 13. I didn’t think anyone was going to respond to me (so soon) so I went ahead and tapped on the green ‘DOWNLOAD’ …it eventually had a pop up ‘Apply update’ Caution This upgrade will reset your data. you will have to login with Google and restore your data after the install. Please backup your photos and other Data before proceeding.’ I then tapped on the ok…looks like I was wrong…was not ready…as it showed

it seems my teracube 2e zirconia was not ready …unless this is one of the steps …NOW WHAT?? How do I even know if it is still online as I cant see the wifi to connect?

It isnt online as it is in recovery mode.

Backup Now option by default should cover the bulk of your important data (contacts, calendars, installed apps, photos [provided Google Drive was not full]).

Your next step needs to be to complete the reset and set it up again, as advised in the pre-update notice.

thank you for letting me know (let me know if i’m wrong) that when I went into ‘settings’, ‘system’, ‘backup’ and tapped on backup now- it likely then did back up ‘the bulk of my important Data’ which is : contacts, calendars, installed app & photos [as long as Google Drive was not full] .

1-When you say my next step is to ‘complete the reset’ - does this mean I should use volume to select ‘factory data reset’ by pressing power button?
2- then you say to ‘set it up again as advised in the pre-update notice’. What is the pre-update notice?

I have not understood most of the responses I was given.(i don’t know what reset and set it up again as advised in the pre- update notice’ means) I looked it up

and I didn’t find an answer.
.and I haven’t been able to use my phone most of this Feb 2025 month…so I went ahead and used volume button to highlight ‘factory Data reset’ & pressed power button. then my phone went dark then showed

this teracube powered by Android picture then back to black screen over and over again…for about 2 and half hours…then/now it looks like this

I don’t know what i’m supposed to do. I don’t know what vision settings is. it shows emergency call and start in a blue box. I will tap on the ‘start’ and hope it does not make an emergency call. …too bad I can’t find instruction in here for what I should do.
