WiFi randomly turns itself on

I often turn WiFi off when I’m away from my house so that the phone will go to mobile data and work quicker when I open applications or the web browser. Also I turn the WiFi off so it’s not constantly searching for a connection and to save some battery power.

But I’ve noticed that the WiFi will randomly and frequently turn itself back on! Anyone else experiencing this? Keep an eye on it and see what happens.

When I turn WiFi OFF it should stay OFF until I turn it back ON.

There is a setting under Wifi Preferences that Turns it on automatically. Can you check if that is on?

Thanks Sharad! That was indeed the case. I’ve never seen a setting like that and wouldn’t have thought to search for one. I’m sure everything will be good now. I prefer to have control, than let the phone decide when to turn it ON.
