Android 15.0.1 for Teracube 2e 1st Batch Zirconia (SN: 2020)

NOTE 1 : These builds ONLY WORK for the Teracube 2e 1st batch (SN: 2020) Zirconia, and not 2nd batch (SN:2021). Please read the differences here carefully and install accordingly.
If you are looking for SN:2021 T2e (Emerald), you can find it here.

NOTE 2: These builds are currently only pass the Device Integrity level in Play Integrity. This means that most applications will function correctly, but Google Wallet will not work .We strongly recommend users of Android 13 and 14 builds to migrate to Android 15 . This is because the older Android 13/14 builds are no longer passing even the basic integrity check. We’ve explored all options, but implementing Remote Key Provisioning (RKP) a strict requirement for Strong Integrity is simply not feasible for us right now.

NOTE 3: It is expected for the device to stay longer on Teracube logo for the first time after installing the upgrade & The device may respond slow for some time after upgrade, apps are optimising in background. We recommend waiting 15min on idle post upgrade before using it for an optimal experience.

We are thrilled to share our 5th major upgrade (15.0.1+cd8be81) Android 15 for Teracube 2e 2020 as it shipped out with Android 10 all the way to Android 15

:tada: What’s New?

:iphone: Android 15 features and improvements
:lock: Security patches updated to 2025-10-05
:zap:Improved system perfomance

(Note: If you’re currently on Android 10/11/13/14, those builds no longer pass basic integrity - we strongly recommend upgrading to Android 15)

:inbox_tray:Steps to Upgrade:

  1. Download the upgrade zip file directly on the phone (or transfer the zip to the phone).
  2. Goto Settings > System > Updater (or Teracube Updater)
  3. Click top-right 3 dots > Local update or Click on the top-right File icon
  4. Tap “Internal storage” and browse to Downloads or wherever you transferred/downloaded the update zip file.
Note 1 : If Internal storage does not show anything, then reboot the phone.
Note 2 : Do not download the update to SD card.
Note 3 : Before you update, make sure you have at least 6GB of free storage and your battery is at least 50% charged. This will help ensure a smooth update process.
  5. Select the file and continue the update process.
Note: If the Updater closes or crashes, then try again.
  6. Upgrade process will take a while.
  7. Reboot the phone after the updater says “Update installed”.
  8. First boot after upgrade can take several minutes.

Do note, after the update, you’ll need to re-enroll your fingerprint and some users have reported that they lose their launcher - icon and widget arrangement. We’d suggest you take a screenshot of your homescreen before performing the update!

Let us know how it went and post your questions/feedback here. Please keep the comments related to this update itself.

If you experience any errors/issues, you can install the original factory software using the automated installer or SP Flash.

Similar to when I updated from 13 to 14, the phone would stuck-app reboot loop (never showed the actual home screen but you could get to settings, eventually it would reboot on its own after several minutes) when my internally formatted sdcard was loaded. After giving it a dozen or so attempts, eventually wiped the sdcard by physically removing it, booting phone, forgetting the sdcard, shutting down, reinserting sdcard, and booting up the phone again which allowed me to reformat it as internal storage again.
As to how the phone itself works… not sure yet. It took all evening yesterday trying to get my sdcard apps to reinstall. Will try to report back later with any specific notes. Planning on seeing if I can easily Magisk it again like Android 13 or if that still bootloops like it did with Android 14.
Probably worth saying that the Play Store did see the phone as certified and limited store apps (Another Eden, in my case) were showing as available again.

I´m done the update right now. Takes app. 3 mins from end of download to second restart. That takes app. 2 mins - than I get the rotating leafes and it takes 2 mins for the reboot to finish. Since that time Android 15 works for me like a charm, but I didnt checkt all functions until now. Phone, threema, paypal, SD-card works. And I was very happy to see the charging limit also working! :grinning:

So I have to sayn a big THANKS to the team at the moment! :+1:

Maybe buying a new SD card would be an option for you. You’ve had problems with it with recent updates, haven’t you? Mine hasn’t caused any problems yet, but I haven’t installed any photos or apps on it either…

I mean, it works as long as I format it again, and it wasn’t needed for 10 → 11 or 11 → 13, just in and out of 14. It kept working through all of 14, but… eh, whatever. Unlikely to replace it unless there’s something that clearly marks it as nonfunctional - reboot churn on major OS version upgrades feels like something failed there as opposed to the sdcard failing, especially when it works for months as long as there’s no major upgrade.

We have something special cooking internally, cannot wait to share it  (You wouldn’t guess whats coming to your T2E!)
