How to use your own wireless plan with Teracube Thrive

This article applies only if you bought the Teracube Wireless version. ​A simple way to check your version is the price you paid for the phone.

  • Teracube Wireless (price < $150)
  • Unlocked (price > $150)

Teracube Thrive phones (price < $150) require using a Teracube Wireless subscription by default. If you want to use a different plan/phone number (or no wireless), then you have two options:

Option 1: Port your old phone number
Teracube Wireless activation sequence allows you to port your old phone number to our plan. Please follow the activation steps in the user guide.


Option 2: Unlock Teracube Thrive
If you want to use your phone with a different compatible plan or without any wireless plan, then you can pay a one-time unlock fee ($100).

Steps to Unlock Teracube Thrive

Step 1: Pay the unlock fee at this link.

Step 2: Once you have paid the above fee, send an email to support@myteracube.com with your phone’s serial number. The serial number can be found in one of the following ways:

  • If the “Activate Wireless” screen is coming up, then tap “Contact us”. It will show you the serial number.
  • Serial number printed on the back of the brown box
  • On your child’s phone, open Settings > About phone > Model & hardware > Serial number.

Once you have paid the fee and shared your details, you can use the following carriers:

Compatible wireless carriers: T-Mobile, Tello, Mint Mobile, Metro, Teracube Wireless.

Not compatible: AT&T, Verizon.
