Please don’t encourage them to start another Beta, before Android 13 is on a stable version, thats going to update OTA.
EU-Users that want or need to run a stable version are still on one of the first Android 10 versions. Because there where various issues with the later Android 10 Versions, Android 11 came never out of Beta before work on Android 12 started and that was also never finished, because work on Android 13 started.
Please don’t continue that circle any further. I know, it is very nice to start playing with new things, but please, i would like to see a stable version soon.
These bleeding edge updates are bleeding my trust and taxing my computer skills that I barely possess. If I have to keep fixing my updater to push on, it may be time for me to move on.
I’m an end user. Please keep that in mind.
Currently, testing and work continues for the Android 13 version for both zirconia and emerald.
Are you able to tell how soon release might be, or is it still in a stage where it’s hard to tell?
No firm date yet, unfortunately.
There are a large number of fixes the team is working on rolling into this release.
I installed the first link (SN 2021 means serial number 2021XXX I assume)?
It confirms local install of firmware and then says it will do it in background… and nothing hours later.
The about screen still says Android 11. Am I missing something?
Welcome!
Correct, 2021xxx serials are also referred to by their platform name “emerald”. Zirconia, if you see it, is the 2020xxx units, and ruby is the One.
Do you have a utility like Caffeine to keep the screen awake and the updater on top without being interrupted? Sometimes that helps.
Hi @Sharad.
How do we know which Zirconia or Emerald build we’re on?
On the phone info section I have:
Teracube build number:
11.0.4+75a3294.user
Build number:
RP1A.200720.011
Also, now 5 months after the beta version release , when should we expect a valid final Android 13 firmware?
The promise given by Teracube was regular updates for 3 years. I know your reply is that we must understand Teracube is a small company. If so, why was the promise made? Just a fly trap to attract customers and not deliver?
Sincerely.
Elzeard
It actually shows Android 13 next time I powered it on.
The wired (usb c to usb-micro) and wifi (nearby setup) copy from old Android phone does not in fact work (maybe because it was an Android 8.1 I try to copy from?)
There didn’t seem to be any way to use the previous device online backup (Seems to be a change in Android/Google One from what I read online), so, no way to copy old phone data?
I reset phone and didn’t get the setup screen to try and copy again.
Restarting and it has been many minutes at the three leaves screen…
Correct, Google only maintains compatibility with currently supported versions of Android, which as of this month would be Android 11 and newer.
Yeah, more or less the same reasoning as above. They only ensure currently supported versions can backup/restore to one another.
You would have to move files manually, and as for internal app data, there would not be a solution that would not require rooting both devices.
With a full reset, the transfer data screen will be part of the OOBE (Out Of Box Experience), and should occur after you setup a network connection and it checks for updates with Google.
Sometimes a boot can take longer, especially if it is doing maintenance. You will sometimes see a long boot after a Google Security update.
So, theoretically one can restore Android 11 and then transfer, then install this update?
The last time I changed phones I recall the transfer process didn’t work without the online backup feature…
If the phone you want the app data from has a pending OTA upgrade to Android 11, sure.
Otherwise, you would need to do a manual flash which will result in data loss, so I do not think it would help you.
Hello everyone and team Teracube!
Sorry guys, but your software support and cadence of updates are atrocious!
Last weekend I installed /e/OS 1.20 from the scratch and could not believe how fast and responsive it was! The boot time is like 10 times faster than on the current Android 13 beta 2. I will stick to /e/OS as for now and wish you luck if you change your plans on software development for Teracube series.
Did you have to flash it or load it from the update screen?
There is an official installer, I installed it while being on Android 13 beta 2.
Does anyone have a date on a stable 13?
I’ve tried two different known working USB-C headphones and USB audio just doesn’t work at all.
Just wanted to say i’m enjoying android 13 (beta) and can’t wait for an update to a stable version
Just had a bit of trouble with an app that wouldn’t verify (firebase authentication), which had to do with google play integrity. This fix worked for me:
What OS and version are you on?
Teracube Android 13.0.1 Zirconia build TQ3A.230805.001.B1
