NOTE 1 : These builds ONLY WORK for the Teracube 2e 2nd batch (SN: 2021), and not 1st batch (SN:2020). Please read the differences here carefully and install accordingly.
If you are looking for SN:2020 T2e (Zirconia), then click here.

NOTE 2: We strongly advise installing the Android 13 update first, to ensure a smoother Android 14 upgrade process.

NOTE 3: After upgrade device may respond slow for some time, apps are optimising in background.

We are thrilled to share our 1st stable (14.0.1+3fc11a8) (Google) certified Android 14 for Teracube 2e.

:sparkles: What’s New? :sparkles:

:lock: Security

  • This update includes security patches to 2025-05-05
  • Improvements to CPU perfomance
  • Improvements to GPU perfomance
  • Improved memory allocation algorithm

Steps to Upgrade:

  1. Download the upgrade zip file directly on the phone (or transfer the zip to the phone).
  2. Goto Settings > System > Updater (or Teracube Updater)
  3. Click top-right 3 dots > Local update
  4. Tap “Internal storage” and browse to Downloads or wherever you transferred/downloaded the update zip file.
Note 1 : If Internal storage does not show anything, then reboot the phone.
Note 2 : Do not download the update to SD card.
Note 3 : Before you update, make sure you have at least 6GB of free storage and your battery is at least 50% charged. This will help ensure a smooth update process.
  5. Select the file and continue the update process.
Note: If the Updater closes or crashes, then try again.
  6. Upgrade process will take a while.
  7. Reboot the phone after the updater says “Update installed”.
  8. First boot after upgrade can take several minutes.

Do note, after the update, you’ll need to re-enroll your fingerprint and some users have reported that they lose their launcher - icon and widget arrangement. We’d suggest you take a screenshot of your homescreen before performing the update!

Let us know how it went and post your questions/feedback here. Please keep the comments related to this update itself.

If you experience any errors/issues, you can install the original factory software using the automated installer or SP Flash.

This is great. I installed the Lineageos version of Android 14 from this thread early in 2024 and have been looking forward to updates. Can I smoothly update from the LOS version to this one? Thanks.

Since they’re different base levels, you’ll likely need to get back onto Android stock first. You should be able to begin with the initial SP Flash link from the top post, then Android 13 ([Certified] Android 13.2.1 for Teracube 2e Emerald (SN:2021)), and finally Android 14 from above.
That being said, SP Flash should work even if your phone can’t boot, long as the download partition doesn’t get corrupted, so you can try to dirty flash from Lineage if you like, just expect it to not go great and almost certainly need a reflash, whether back to Lineage or using SP Flash to get back to the stock experience.

My experience:
-Upgrading from 13.1.1
-Import process worked on first attempt
-After selecting option to proceed with installation, progress bar went from left to right, but ultimately just returned to the system update screen, and showed that my device was “up to date” and still on 13.1.1
-2nd attempt to import local update resulted in “failed to import” error
-3rd attempt resulted in a prompt to reboot device, which I did
-on reboot, system showing OS as 14.0.1
-fingerprints and desktop arrangement of icons were preserved, but wallpaper was changed, haptic feedback was turned on, and a “security settings” button was added to my quick settings without my explicit permission
-I still find it annoying that there is no direct toggle for Wi-Fi in quick settings, and you have to do two separate swipe-downs just to access the screen brightness slider
-no other issues noted at this time

This is incredibly annoying, but this control changed with Android AOSP 13, and is very unlikely to change back, as it appears to be the same control in Android AOSP 16 still.

Does anyone else experience “spontaneous” and regular reboots after the update?

Are there any other symptoms or behaviors that you have identified?

Are you able to backup your data, do a full Factory Reset, and see if it behaves afterwards?

The only ‘spontaneous’ reboots I’ve experienced in the past few weeks on 14 are the same as I’ve had on 10, 11, 12, and 13… if I try to do something overly taxing like move a 10 gig game between the sdcard and internal storage, there will probably be a reboot after 10-20 minutes when Android decides that system is hung and it’s the only solution. But that’s an Android issue regarding locking up storage rather than something specific to Teracube’s implementation, and at that point I wipe the data on the app, move it, then let it slowly redownload everything messy again.

I have not experienced that with any other version before.
When i check RAM usage after the reboot for the time before the reboot there is also no app showing a massive usage of RAM

Also, the phone is usually ok until the reboot and after the reboot is extremely slow

the phone is very slow at moments however that has already improved quite a lot. Apart from that the phone seems to be functioning normally.

Do you want me to do the factory reset and then the update to 14 again? or without the update?

Yes, I get those too.

Some days I have to do Duolingo 3 times because it fails in those 5 minutes. No other Apps running in the background.
It helps if I push the power button for 1-2 sec after the screen freezes. Then only the current app crashes after 2–3 minutes of frozen screen but it doesn’t reboot.

But yes, I would say reboots 4 Times a day while charging or just lying around. Strangely it crashes mostly if i use apps that don’t take a lot of resources but are open for a long time (Duolingo, Royal road).

Do you have a recommended backup way? I have lots of apps with certificates (MFA, banking, certificates etc.) on it and it would be annoying to all redo them.

Either, honestly. I know I’m asking a lot. If you are willing/able, I think just the reset should be sufficient, but if issues persist, a reflash of the update would be prudent.

@Saijin_Naib any tips on the backup? With root I would try Titanium backup, but I can get that only by resetting, right?
Can I help you in debugging this issue?
Any log I can send or behaviour I should try to narrow it down?
