[Advanced Users][11.0] LineageOS 18.1 [UNOFFICIAL][2e]

NOTE: These instructions only work for Teracube 2e sold and shipped in 2021. They do not work for the 2022 batch yet. Read more here.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

What works?

  • Everything should work out of the box.

What doesn’t work?

  • STA + SAP concurrency.
  • WiFi calling. (untested)

Installation notes

  • Revert to SW6 if you are on SW16.
  • Clean flash if you’re coming from stock.
  • Google Apps installation is not available now, will be fixed via OTA.

Installation Instructions:

Fastboot Installation - First Installation for best use

  1. Install Google’s ADB and Fastboot tools from here.
  2. Download lineage-18.1-2e-20210621_062925-signed-img.zip
  3. Reboot to bootloader
  4. Install using fastboot using the following commands -
$ fastboot -w
$ fastboot update lineage-18.1-2e-20210621_062925-signed-img.zip
  1. It will take a long time to flash and boot up, so please be patient.
  2. Configure Lineage once it boots up and Enjoy!
Alternative way : OTA ZIP installation via TWRP (not recommended)
  1. Format data using TWRP.
  2. Download lineage-18.1-20210621-UNOFFICIAL-2e.zip
  3. Reboot to recovery.
  4. Copy the ZIP to storage.
  5. Flash the ZIP.
  6. Reboot.

Downloads:

Note:

  • Encryption in TWRP is not working. It can still flash files neatly, but ADB sideload method is preferred. Don’t worry, all your files are still intact.
  • Updates will be rolled out via OTA. It is preferred to use LineageOS recovery bundled with the fastboot package to stay sure about OTA updates.
  • These builds are production builds, user variant and signed with our keys.

Work has been started on a web installer to make the installation process for you easier.

We are aware of a known issue affecting IMS - and we will roll out a Lineage update via OTA subsequently to address this issue.
Along with that, we have worked on improving system performance and UX.

Builds have been pushed, links have now been moved to a single source.
Releases · 2e-dev/releases · GitHub.

For fastboot installations, you have to download this: Lineage Recovery - here
and flash it via fastboot flash recovery losrec.img before running fastboot update.

This looks and feels pretty nice. The only issue was with rooting where I had to temporarily switch back to TWRP.

Hello and welcome to the Teracube community!
Thank you for trying out LineageOS-18.1, and yes, since Lineage recovery is shipped for smoother upgrades via OTA, you would need to temporarily install TWRP.

What is STA + SAP concurrency?

Will Wifi calling be supported at some point?

Is VoLTE working? What about FM radio?

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to playing further with Lineage. :slight_smile:

STA + SAP concurrency is a feature where the phone can be used as a WiFi repeater.
WiFi calling is one of the features I am actively working on.
VoLTE works, I have not tested FM Radio.
Will surely let you know when I successfully fix the rest.

Builds released for the Teracube 2e (2021)

Fastboot update compatible build: https://github.com/2e-dev/releases/releases/download/1.4/lineage_2e-img-eng.gagan.zip
These builds can be flashed using the Fastboot Update instructions in the main post, will copy it here to help -

  1. Install Google’s ADB and Fastboot tools from here .
  2. Download lineage_2e-img-eng.gagan.zip
  3. Reboot to bootloader
  4. Install using fastboot using the following commands -
$ fastboot -w
$ fastboot update lineage_2e-img-eng.gagan.zip
  1. It will take a long time to flash and boot up, so please be patient.
  2. Configure Lineage once it boots up and Enjoy!

ALTERNATIVELY:
OTA build (via recovery): https://github.com/2e-dev/releases/releases/download/1.4/lineage_2e-ota-eng.gagan.zip
These builds can be flashed via Lineage Recovery or TWRP. This is not recommended.

Steps to install the build either way are on the main post.

The first method failed to resume for me for some reason and was stuck, I was able to get an OS running via the OTA but lost all my data as well and had to reroot etc.

Hello

im on build iode image…flashing lineage os
dont work…with fastboot or Twrp…
wich build i need to flash with recovery sideload???

regards

we’ve finally got both devices (zirconia, emerald) on the same code base finally, and we’re gearing up for a release. running sanity testing and fixing a few minor bugs but yes, we’ll be getting it out. got a lot of performance improvements compared to previous builds, and yes, a clean flash will be needed.
